Aiming For the Fullness of Christ - Ephesians 4:11-13

"So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." - Ephesians 4:11-13

It has been said that the letter to the Ephesians contain the profoundest truth revealed to men.  No wonder, it doesn’t feel like I am going through the letter, but that it is going through me!

These verses again emphasize the Holy Spirit, who lives in us, distributes the gifts and roles of the church members.  These roles are not merely giftings, and talents.  They are of supernatural origin.  It is to prepare God’s people for works of service to build up the body of Christ, the church, His church.  And the primary end goal is very different from what the world is fighting for, such as social justice, political correctness, gender equality, or freedom rights and privileges.  The end goal that for the church is to attain to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

May the Sycomore be faithful custodians of this truth.
