“For this world in its present form is passing away.”
“but that you may live in a right way in undivided devotion to the Lord.”
The Sycomore can thank apostle Paul, for his instructions being so real. He shares about God-given, legitimate sexual desires between a man and a woman. He warns the church in carrying out these legitimate sexual desires in illegitimate ways. He clears up what is sinful and what is not. He gives instruction in the messy reality of a wife or husband who becomes a believer, while the other is not. Yet, the pulse of his instructions is be primarily focused with the sense of this present world passing away soon, and so that we may live in undivided devotion to the Lord.
May God shape the Sycomore into a real church, whose fellowship contains followers of Christ “saved but by the grace of God”, who keep heavenly-minded, and live for that which is coming.
