I Hear The Cry of Love - Mark 15:33, 34

"At noon, darkness fell across the whole land until three o'clock.  Then at three o'clock Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?" which means "My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?"

Jesus, the Son of God was intimate with God, the Father.  He lived, moved, and had His being in God.  Though He was innocent, Jesus was now nailed to the cross - a bloody, gory spectacle.  The Son of God, through whom all things were created!  Omnipotence reduced into a created body!  Jesus came to His own creation, but was despised and rejected!  And now, he is to pay the debt of my sins, with perhaps a finality worse than death itself - abandonment.  Even worse, abandonment when helpless, in dire circumstances, when Jesus need Him most.  The absence of God is hell.  God poured out His wrath on Jesus, the Lamb of God, who was to be sacrificed, for the atonement of our sins.  And Jesus was just as human as we are.  Even though The Son sensed The Father’s absence, Jesus still cried out to the only One He loved with His whole heart.  I hear the cry of love.
