“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” - Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV)
I’ll be kicking off the year in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Leaving on January 7th and returning on the 21st. I’ll be joining David and Andy on the first leg of the Asia missions trip.
I don’t know exactly what I will be doing there but am taking this step of faith and giving God room to show up. We are working on an internet security project which you can read more about on Andy’s Go Fund Me page and helping out with odd jobs to support the conference.
I’ll get the opportunity to be in community with leaders of great mission organization in Asia and see what God is doing outside of the states. I’m excited to just talk to these people and hear their testimonies. Hopefully see how the tools and experiences God has given me might make an impact.
God doesn’t forget about the promises he speaks over our lives. Many years ago at a retreat in Nyack College, God planted a seed in my heart for Asia. It was one of the most powerful prayer moments of my life. The door was opened for this opportunity and I felt that I had to take the leap of faith and go.
This trip will also give me rest from the rat race of NY. I’ve been feeling burnt out lately in all aspects of life and hoping that this trip will help to kick start the recharging process.
I’m also on my sabbatical year from leadership. I think God will continue to open new opportunities for me to meet Him this year and get a broader prospective on life and strengthen my Identity in Him.
Please partner with me in prayer that I am sensitive to His presence, obey his calling and find rest.
Cant wait to share stories of this trip.
